Three Products you should try on your Natural Hair Part 3

The third and finally product is also for maintenance and is paraben and sulfate free. It is a water based product as well. I use this every time I wash my hair or when I change hair styles. It adds moisture and makes my hair soft. It also helps detangle my hair. It is very lightweight and does not cause build up.

The third and final product is a leave in conditioner. EDEN Bodyworks Coconut Shea Refresh and Renew Leave in Conditioner is the third and final product you should give a try. It does exactly that. It refreshes and renews your hair. The less products I use, the better my hair does and the less often I have to wash it. I bought this conditioner almost 9 months ago and it is almost finally gone. It is supposed to be used daily but we wear a lot of protective hair styles and I use this in between. I don’t blow dry my hair often but when I do, I make sure I use this conditioner and some Avocado or Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Leaves my hair looking and feeling great and never greasy or oily.

EDEN Bodyworks has a great product line for your hair whether you are all natural like me, or your hair is permed. The Coconut Shea line is what I use in the Spring and Summer and I am going to start using the Peppermint Tea Tree line up next. You can mix and match or just stick to a specific kind. You can order this product in a set or by itself. I also use the EDEN Bodyworks Coconut Shea Hair Masque Treatment which is a 15 minute deep conditioner that works excellent and smells even better. You can find this product and most of the other products on this site at Amazon if you can’t find them at your local beauty supply store.

My hair is growing and in my next few post, I will be listing what I use to help it grow and remain healthy. I will also be doing other product reviews as I experiment with what is going to benefit my hair the most. EDEN makes good products that I like but so does Jane Carter and what about Elucence? These are some of the products I found and will write about in the future. If I am not doing my hair, I am doing my daughters’. I try to use kids products on her hair which is also growing and we both stretch our hair. Maybe that helps it grow. We keep our hair braided for the most part and avoid heavy products and heat. I wash my hair once a month unless it is necessary to wash it more. I am trying every three weeks for me and every two weeks for her. So far, so good. And my ends have not been trimmed yet.

New Walk, Old Shoes

The African American Trades & Goods received its first goods this month. We have been busy spreading the word locally and building a customer base. I invested some money in the oils that I wanted to blend with great success. I wasn’t able to make a whole lot of oil but I was able to make enough for me and my family and have some leftover. I love making the oil blends. My first client was Tom Wilson, my husband and the Founder of African American Trades & Goods. I made him a special blend of oils to help relieve an itchy and dry scalp from eczema. I also made a massage oil for us which relieves stress and a blend of oils for my hair and scalp. I bought some essential oils and carrier oils. Some of the cheaper brands of essential oils did not smell like they should and I lost about $14 at the most. All the other oils that I bought worked out well and I have blended different types which I intend on selling as soon as we get a logo and some labels unless it’s by request.

This website is still undergoing changes. I haven’t been posting as often because I have been busy trying to figure out what direction I want this website to go in. I was raising Dystonia Awareness when I started but now I am not even sure if I have it. Seeing a Movement Disorder Specialist was my goal but learning to live with whatever I have and being able to function on an everyday basis became more important than appointments. Once I got the papers for my medical marijuana license, I started eliminating medication that I either was tired of taking, wasn’t working, or caused some form of dependence. I have went from 15 or more pills a day to 3 or 4 a day over the course of the last six months. I am starting to stray away from Pepsi altogether but I have started drinking iced coffee from Tim Hortons, water when it is purified, and more tea.

I have purchased two vape pens. One for nicotine because I have grown tired of Lex 12 Nappa Night Cigars and Lex 12 Cigars period. In fact, I am tired of all the cigars I normally smoke including those Black & Mild’s I have been smoking since high school and can no longer smoke. They make me develop a chronic cough. I have not smoked one in quite some time. I have a Tru Blu vape pen for now and I like it but, they don’t make the type of flavors I like. I also was able to find a different type of Al Capone Cigar which I have fell in love with. Al Capone filtered Jamaican Blaze Cigars. I will be transitioning to them next month. They have a great flavor that pairs well with my vape pens and medical marijuana. I had to learn how to roll up all over again. I no longer use Swishers. I use tobacco less, vegan, CBD, GMO free wraps by High Hemp. They come in quite a few flavors or you can get the plain kind. I get them according to what I am smoking on that day.

My compression stockings are in the drawer and I haven’t worn them in over a week. All that swelling and pain for all that time was from a very simple problem that the doctors never considered but I did. What if the swelling is coming from wearing the wrong shoes? I mean literally. Nothing more. Nothing less. No need to have any testing done which makes less trips to the doctor. Not one doctor that I am seeing considered that. Not one doctor asked me what type of shoes do I wear when I am at home. Instead, they switched my blood pressure medication to one that acts as a water pill and a blood pressure all at once. Lets just say that there is no way in the world I was going to keep taking a medication that makes me have to go to the bathroom that many times in a few hours unless it is absolutely necessary. So I stopped taking the water pills and put me some shoes on. What swelling?

My ankles stopped swelling up after I put on the most comfortable shoes that I have and limited the amount of time I spent in house shoes. I was walking around the house in shower or boat shoes. The kind of shoes that you can get wet, take off, and drain the water out by rolling the shoes up into their selves. They have drainage holes and are worn like socks with a rubber bottom. I walked all over in those shoes for at least eight months. One day after the swelling had finally went down, I put on some LeBron James Basketball shoes and was in bliss and still am. How comfortable basketball shoes are is amazing. I don’t know how other people feel about them but they have always got me threw a day in comfort. I have on some brand new old LeBron James shoes in the daytime and I put on the house shoes in the evening. Oh what a relief this was. I am going to wear these shoes until I tear them up. By that time, I should be able to afford some more. I also found that Sperry shoes and baseball shoes also work. I still need to wear the in lays with them but not the compression stockings.

Three Products to try on your Natural Hair Part 2

The second product I recommend you should try will make some women stop perming their hair and try going all natural. Or not. It is for all hair types including extensions, wigs, and permed. I used this product on a Barbie head because the hair was tangled. Somebody told me to use fabric softener and water in a squirt bottle to untangle/detangle the hair but I hadn’t purchased any yet and was looking around the house for something to try on synthetic hair or as we like to call it, doll hair. This product works similar to a wig spray we used to detangle our extensions with. It is such an old product, you would think it would be harder to find or discontinued like some of the others products we like.

The Original Mane & Tail Detangler by Straight Arrow is the second product you should give a try if you have difficulty combing your hair. This product works excellent on adults and kids and is very inexpensive. I know some people would say why still use it? There are newer products on the market now. Why not? I still have the same bottle of it and it still works excellent. The Mane & Tail Leave in Conditioner by Straight Arrow is what we used in high school to make our hair lay down when we all had perms and wore our hair in wraps. The detangler that usually comes in a 12 oz. size could last you at least a year or maybe even more.

The first ingredient in this product is water which is something I look for in all hair products I use. For me, this is a plus and the fact that it comes in a spray bottle makes it easier for me to use. If you prefer not to let the smell of your hair take over like a perfume, this product is for you as it barely has a scent. You can use an oil with some scent and use this to keep it detangled. It has the consistency of a water and does not cause build up in your hair like other products might which is why I still use it on my  hair every now and then to make it comb through with no problems.

You can find this product easily online. I found some in a local store but a lot of Beauty Supply stores stopped selling it. This could be a local problem, or it just isn’t available like it used to be. By request I tried this on her hair and she had no problems. I really only used it on her ends because as we all know, they are the hardest part to comb especially if you don’t trim yours like me. I don’t trim hers ends either. I like to stretch my hair with braids in different styles or curls. This is where the first product comes in at. Styling. This product is for maintenance.
